Italian Dressing Caramelized Chicken

The best part about this recipe is that it only requires 3 ingredients and it is absolutely delicious.

The ingredients you’ll need:

  • 2.5 lbs-3 lbs Chicken Breast
  • 1 packet (.7 ounce) of dried italian dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Line a 9×13 pan with a large piece of aluminum foil to prevent sticking.

3. Combine the packet of dried Italian dressing mix and 1/2 cup of brown sugar.

4. After cutting excess fat off chicken breasts, dip each piece and coat with the mix on each side. Any extra coating that remains can be sprinkled over.

;

5. Place chicken in oven for 15-20 minutes (depending on the size of the chicken breasts) and flip each piece over. Bake for an additional 15 minutes. Turn oven on broil for 2 minutes, flip chicken and broil for another 2 minutes.

Serve with rice, couscous, and quinoa. Enjoy!

mine turned out very spicy for some reason, maybe I used to much dressing I don’t know. I tried adding more brown sugar to see if that made it less spicy but I don’t think it did. 😦 I’ll try it again though with less dressing.

Threw some thick cut bacon on it…… A bit hard for the bacon to stay on when i flip them (suggestions please) but i hope the mess and struggle is worth it in the end

Forgot to mention im using chipotle taco packet instead of Italian. And no foil, just olive oil and glass cookware. 15 min at 350 plus the bacon and it come out nice and juicy

Marinade and before you cook them wrap them with bacon leaving only the ends of the chicken showing. Then cook with seam side of bacon down so when you flip them the bacon will be sealed. Make up a teaspoon of brown sugar with a tablespoon of butter or bacon grease and base the bacon as it cooks if you want it to have some sweetness too.

Where I stay I can’t get the mixed Italian Herbs mentioned in the recipe – I can get individual herbs like oregano, basil etc etc,.
So please tell the alternatives to make the mixed herbs.
    Thanks

I tried this receipt today and it was wonderful. I added a little more brown sugar because I used light brown sugar instead. My family was very pleased and I will be cooking this again. Very easy to do and simply delicious.

I made this twice, first time used boneless breasts. It was a little dry for me. Second time used thighs, deboned them myself and cost about 1/4 the price of boneless skinless breasts. Turned out great.

what I did because I also wanted a bit of extra sauce is just used another packet and the same amt of brown sugar and put it in a saucepan on low heat and kept stirring until the brown sugar melted and everything combined..

I am making this for dinner tonight, for a family of five picky eaters… I used Dominos dark brown sugar and Good Seasoning Italian Season (dry packet) I mixed as stated coated pan with nonstick spray Now my dilemma is I preseasoned the chicken and frigderated. I want to know will this step be ok?

Google how to make it with your herbs and spices that you can get there. Or, maybe you can order it from Amazon? Are you able to request that your local grocery market special order it for you? If I’m looking for an item at my market, they will order it and add it to their shelves if a customer requests it.

I found that using boneless skinless chicken thighs is juicy. I find chicken breast to be to dry. Just a suggestion for those who say it’s a bit dry. It’s not you, it’s the breast!!

Great flavor, but very dry. Would like to add a liquid to the mix, but not sure what would work with these flavors. Any suggestions?
